It was a rainy Saturday and I had a ticket to see the documentary The Heat: A Kitchen (R)evolution showing at the TIFF Bell Lightbox as part of the Hot Docs festival. I decided I didn’t want to grab something at Tim Hortons or the O&B Canteen. I decided to go to Pearl King located at King and John which is across the street from the TIFF Bell Lightbox. I had been craving Chinese food for a long time. I knew the prices would be more than what you could find in Chinatown, but I wanted new experience.
Good thing I wasn’t hungry when I watched the documentary as it was a lot of food.
Check out the documentary if you would like an insight into women chefs and the challenges that they face working in the kitchen.
